What are the qualifications to work at Benefit Cosmetics or MAC Cosmetics?

I have 18 years and I have much experience for my Proms, party favors, weddings and other special occasions and I like working on a Mac or a benefit, because those are the two brands I use. I will start MAC counter or desk benefits Macys or Nordstrom, but I need more specific qualifications or requirements must meet to apply? Help please?

Im a mac artist and most of the guys working here have a strong make-up backround. I personaly did training as a fashion make-up artist for two years and then started working for mac along side freelanceing.

Its tough to get into mac since is a very sought after job. You can progress in the company for many levels from events team (doing fashion week etc) to becoming a trainer or even one day a Pro Artist.

I would advise you to study and get some sort of qulification in fashion Make-up and to start building a portfolio to show off you’re skills.

This isn’t alwasy necesary but It will make you go further then others who have no done this.

    Good Luck

i think with your experience you could easily get a job with mac. mac sends u to makeup courses, so they will qualify u. my friend worked for mac, she had NO knowledge whatsoever, and they sent her to makeup courses for everything :)

I would try for Benefit, since they have a more limited amount of color. I have freelanced for MAC before, and they really do require more experienced artists, although it is true if you work at the counter they will send you to trainings.
I loved working in cosmetics, and I started at Clinique when I was 20. I have worked at Nordstrom, which is a great company to work for! Have fun, and Good Luck!
